Hello! I’m Sophie.
You can call me Sophie, Soph, or Sopha (my friends call me Couch…get it?)
At 7 years old, I was cranking out play scripts like I had a boss to impress. The boss? My parents, who wholeheartedly watched me perform my one-woman shows in the living room.
When I was 9, I wrote my first breakup song. Not sure who I was breaking up with, but I had braces and a lisp, so it definitely wasn’t a boy.
Jump to 16 years old. I discovered Typing Club. Immediately obsessed. I finished all 685 lessons in two weeks. I needed to put my flying fingers to good use, so I typed up poems, songs, short stories, and an obituary for my hamster. This is also around the time when I released my first song on Spotify and Apple Music. It was called Fool, and that’s precisely what I was for thinking it was going to make me the next Billie Eilish.
Then, there was the great epiphany of 2019. My dad took me to a showing of the British Arrow Awards, and I realized I could make money telling stories and making ads. Who knew?!
And now I’m here. Twenty-two years old and still refusing to ditch the oxford comma. I still love writing. And I still have a lisp.
When I’m not writing, I’m probably…
fighting the side cramp demons on my daily run.
buying overpriced coffees and trying to convince everyone “it’s so worth it.”
recording music in my storage closet under the stairs (I’m basically the musical Harry Potter).
annoying my friends by constantly emphasizing
the difference between gelato and ice cream.
Oh, you don’t know the difference? Check out my Instagram account where I review gelato. A google search will probably suffice too.
